 Post subject: Books sent off?
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 1:19 pm
Hi
Can anyone tell me what exactly it means if your child's books are requested and sent off following the test? I presume it constitutes a borderline result, does anyone know the chances?
Thanks very much :-)

As far as I know, it is either a borderline pass, or a fail that is open to appeal by the headteacher. I'm sure that if it's a straight pass, then no need for extra investigation! Good luck!

It means that the child hasn't reached the pass mark, but the school thinks they probably should have done, or would have done on another day. The head of one of our grammar school told me that about 6% go throgh like this - the initial pass group is about 19% in order to allow these appeals. However, in our school, all the year 6 books have vanished from the class room, so we don't know which ones are actually being sent off. You may still be safe!

Thanks for your replies!
I know they have been requested as at our school the books of 6 children have been sent off!
