Hello
My two daughters (year 9 and 7) both go to DGGS. I love the school, they really do care about the girls both academic and personal. My eldest is thriving and my youngest has settled in without a backwards glance. I would recommended this school to all.

Having said that I have a friend whos daughter attends Townley (year 8) and she is also very happy.

Go with the school that your daughter feels right with.

I had looked at both of these schools as well. My impressions were more positive for Townley. The one thing that made me think a bit was the fact that it is an Art specialist school and I was concerned if my "Unarty" DD would fit in or cope.

Thanks a lot. I hope I have to make up my mind by tomorrow. I really liked Dartford girls. was smaller, smaller classes and got a lot more out of the tour. I was tired this evening at Townley's and the current work of the girls was not shown so maybe I need to visit it again.
Journey to Townley is shorter.

You could go to one of the daytime visits tommorow or Friday morning? My DD started Townley this year. She is loving it, it seems early to say but so far the school seems to take great care of them and is concerned to make it as easy as possible to settle in, the school is big but not too difficult to get around. They gave them a pocket map and got the year 8's to guide them to all their lessons for the first week which I thought was very thoughtful and certainly took away a lot of the anxiety for my daughter!

I remember being told that a member of Townley staff stands at the bus stop to make sure that gilrs face no problems. I forget now if they do this throughout the year or just at the start of the year. It is extremely thoughtful, even if it is only at the start of the year.

Yes my niece is there and she said the headmaster came to the bus stop every afternoon when she first started to help them all get on the bus. Its excellent. My dd will also be able to go to sch with my niece as we live a few doors away.

I've found Dartford to be very supportive. My daughter can be quite anxious about new things, but she has settled in brilliantly.
