Brenda Jean,

My son will start Skinners in September. We live in Bickley so he'll travel from Bickley to Orpington and then change onto the Tunbridge Wells train. If he gets the 0720 from Bickley he gets to Tunbridge Wells at 0808. Not a bad journey. Some days we plan to drop him off at Orpington (10 min drive for us).

No too sure how far the school is from Tunbridge Wells station - someone thought it was c.15 mins walk. The station before Tunbridge Wells is High Brooms which looks similar distance from the school.

Happy to meet up as it would be great if our son has someone to travel with.

My boys travel to Skinners' by train but from Sevenoaks.

Most boys travelling from the north tend to get off the train at High Brooms. It works out cheaper and the walk is about the same.

Try Metrobus number 303. The 303 comes from Orp / Badgers Mount direction and goes down into Dunton Green, through Riverhead and up to the A21 via Bessels Green.

It's ticker board says Bennett Memorial on the front but it is a Metrobus public bus and you can use the freedom pass on it. My DS gets it at about 7.55 a.m. from Riverhead end and is in school on time no problem. It stops outside the Skinners front gates. Easy!!!

It's not on the kent / school travel websites as it comes from Orpington way and is not an Arriva bus but it is great and more Skinners boys are getting it. Just google Metrobus.

Any other info about it please pm me .
