Thank you all so much for your replies. It has been very helpful to hear different views and although I am still confused I am perhaps a little better informed! :?

We have accepted a place but do worry that St K's is resting on the laurels of results from several years ago. Also that the Head Teacher is doing too much - she is also Acting Head for Halstead.

Hopefully a strong PTA and Board of Governors will keep it on the up although rather worryingly the website is up-to-date until 2009!

We can now only wait and see.......

The nearby garden centre is very nice though.

It's quite a way from DDs' school but for various reasons the spies could be out there; might I bump into you there on a health day though? The chances are lower as I'm not a great patron of garden centres as plants do not even generally survive the journey home once they are in my care.

That's where I wear my tree outfit. ( and DC have a mini version...a shrub, perhaps. )
