Well here is my plan.

At the mo, practicing tables as this is a sticking point. We're just starting with grids, as mostly have been doing it by rote whilst stomping to school. He'd hate it at home, but doesn't mind whilst walking as long as I'm upbeat about it.

Also 'speed practice', I just write a page of simple maths and comp. Type problems in a notebook and time him. He is v slow and distractible due to dyspraxia but seems to enjoy this so am hoping it'll help him focus, and as the year progresses I can up the ante on the difficulty.

Jan- tutor gets involved. Luckily mine just charges dinner :) I'm feeling positive about this but will prob ask him to start with general stuff and bring in 11+.
