Admissions Consultation for 2013

Post by mitasol »

Kent KCC is consulting on the admissions arrangements for 2013. This consultation opened on 15 November 2011 and runs until 13 January 2012.

Admission Arrangements 2013
  • Kent Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools
  • Secondary Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools A-R
  • Secondary Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools S-Z
  • Proposed Co-ordinated Scheme for Secondary Admissions
Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools
  1. Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys: it is proposed that a catchment area be introduced.
Secondary Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools
For this category you may need to check with individual schools for any amendments to their admissions policies and subsequent consultation documents.

Those GS that have furnished KCC with arrangements include:-
  1. Dartford Grammar School
  2. Mayfield Grammar School
  3. Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys

From 2013 they are proposing that preference be given to boys who live within 9 miles of the school and who have a minimum overall score of 385 in the Kent Test.
*Thanks to frustrated who spotted the consultation documents.

Sorry to sound ignorant, is only the T W school affected by the consultation, or all Kent schools, and if the latter, wht are they consulting about?

Thanks for posting this.

I am having some difficulty working out who the winners and losers will be if the proposed new catchment area for TWGSB goes ahead. I have looked at the current admission arrangements and the maps and can't work it out. Anybody got any ideas / insight?

PC,

The consultation documents concern the admissions arrangements. KCC is responsible for the consultation of Community and VC schools. The Academies, Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools are required to consult on their own admissions arrangements, if they intend to change them.
