I'm struggling to understand the Sevenoaks grammar school campaign website. What exactly did the recent Council meeting agree to? Is there any chance of repealing some law or other that Andrew Shilling referred to in his speech on that site? Why is his speech mostly about children from Sevenoaks having such huge journeys to grammar schools and not a convincing demographic argument about why more grammar places are needed in a particular area of Kent?

If we do need a new grammar school in Sevenoaks I didn't find that a very convincing speech ......... hope if we really need one that there is someone somewhere putting together a good case based on watertight facts rather than "media-type spin". Even the numbers that had signed an e-petition seemed strange - more than the number of secondary school children in Sevenoaks - what does that tell you about anything other than a load of people have gone "we want a grammar school in Sevenoaks"? It doesn't help the case does it, apart from be a bit laughable.
