Hi Vikas, which bit of Kent/schools are you looking at as things vary widely across the county.
On 1st March Skinners was 414 and Judd was 418 (but not all 418's got places due to distance) as these are described as superselective admission is based on score only and distance doesn't come into play unless there is a tie for the "last place". Therefore being OOC is not important for these two schools.

To add to the above, last year Skinners dropped from 414 to 411 and some 417 achieved Judd!

My son has got only 397 so I do not think he can get in any of these top schools. Just wondering if there is any other grammar school in Kent who will be happy to take him in ?
As of now we live in Wembley but ready to shift to any location having less than one hour train journey from Central London.

Chatham Grammar School is under Medway authority but this year will take either a Medway pass or a Kent pass due to expected under-subscriptionvikas wrote:My son has got only 397 so I do not think he can get in any of these top schools. Now top score is 423 should we add 3 to each of these raw scores as indication?
Re: Last year(2012) Cut-Off in kent grammar schools
You won't have an problem getting a place in many east Kent GS's and travel within an hour to London is equally straightforward from most places. Fast train from ashford being first thought as that is local to us, but lots of options really. Do you have a preferred area of the county?
Money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.

Would think that the travel costs could be quite prohibitive as well. Worth thinking about this aspect too.
