Freedom passes or home to school bus passes for over 16's

Have been searching on Kent CC website and just googling in general for an update re the over 16's petition in the Summer. My dn's , both in 6th form haven't got bus passes because their mum cannot afford them. I am sure that we would know by now if the scheme had been extended but thought it worth asking just in case. Does anyone know if there are any means tested schemes available to low income families to help finance the 16+ passes?
