The first paper will be English and maths and last one hour. Each test will be 25 minutes +5 minutes practice time. There will be a hard stop at the end of each paper.

The English paper will comprise of a comprehension exercise and a test to mark literacy skills. Both will still be multiple choice.

The second paper will be a reasoning paper and comprise again of two sections. The first section will be verbal reasoning and then the second non-verbal reasoning which will be in four sections. Each of the sections will be timed individually

There will be practice elements and questions for each.

In the afternoon there will be a writing paper of 40 minutes +10 minutes planning time. As with previous years this will not be marked and only used for headmasters or appeal assessments.

The scores will again be standardised and range from 69 to 141. The maximum mark therefore being 282 as only two papers.

Kent county council will have some sample questions are available on their website during the application for test process.

Hi UncleBob,

Is there a link or a document you can post?

The KCC web page still just says

"We're making some changes to the Kent Test this year. Further details about these changes will be published on this page towards the end of May 2014."

Which is not much help!

Thanks

There was no timing on reasoning paper as I presume it will depend on how large the sections are.

Sorry.

Thanks uncle bob. Why did kcc send it to primary heads? It is nothing to do with them is it other than they need to make some arrangements for accommodating the test.
