Have you registered?

The out of area children sit the papers in a test centre (usually a grammar school) on the Saturday morning following the tests carried out in primary schools mid-week.

Out of area is a bit misleading though. You use the Saturday test centre if your child doesn't go to a state primary or independent school which has arrangements with KCC to hold the test during the week on their premises. It's not really to do with your home address. And some independents and some state primary schools outside Kent do have arrangements to hold the test on their premises during the week.

You need to speak to KCC admissions and your child's school to get the correct picture.

You will receive a letter about 10 days before the test informing you of the test centre your child has been allocated.

Yes, registered but now all is quiet... just hoping it isn't going to be miles away as that will add to the stress!

Sorry, but it might be. We are in Medway and thought we'd get somewhere like Sittingbourne, Gravesend or Maistone (all about 20 mins away).

We got Ashford (40 mins away) which is tough for a 8.30 start on a Saturday two Saturdays in a row.

My Eldest was allocated a test centre that was a 50 minute drive away. Middle child's test centre was 10 mins from home. I'm hoping for a convenient venue this time too.

Being OOC (and in Orpington), you may get Tunbridge Wells as the centre.

Drive on the test day morning (if you want additional stress) or spend £100 to get a nice hotel to stay night before (less stress but ££).
