Dartford grammar school question

Can anyone please tell me what time the school opens in the morning to pupils, and whether there are any facilities available e.g. canteen or library? Also same question for after school, what time library, clubs, and other facilities open till?

Having a dilemma making final decisions for our application form, due to school coach arriving at DGS at around 8:10am and leaving around 15:50 in the afternoon..

Hi Oaklee. I've just checked with DS. He says the canteen is open before school for breakfast but the library doesn't ooen until 10 mins before first period. After school, most boys are in the playground waiting for the coaches and you can also stay in the library/school buildings. Hope this helps.

My son also arrives early but prefers to hang around with his friends in the playground. They play football or chat. This confuses me a bit as in their induction booklet it said that unless it was raining or snowing the children were not allowed in the school before 8:30. My son says this is never enforced and they could even go into the classes if they wanted.

What salsa says.

Even after five years I still boggle at how much freedom the boys at DGS have. They still take in money! They can stay in their form rooms at break and lunch! Y11s can go DOWN TO TOWN AND EAT IN SUBWAY
If your son is an independent-minded type oaklee, he will love the DGS life. I am trying to persuade ds to look at a couple of other 6th forms just for comparison and he will not budge.
