Our son has passed the 11 plus a selective exam conducted by the Kent council and is also in the catchment (Zone A) of Dartford Grammar school for boys.

If we make the following preference in the CAF

a) School A
b) Dartford Grammar
c) School C
d) School D

We have the following questions considering that we fall in the catchment (i.e. oversubscription criteria 2 for Zone A) for the answers

1) If we don’t get our first choice i.e. school A, will Dartford Grammar become our first choice automatically
2) In the event of 1 happening, will we get equal preference with the others who have made Dartford Grammar their first preference (within oversubscription criteria 2 for Zone A) or will the others who made Dartford their first preference be given the advantage.
3) If there are more than 90 students in the catchment each making either Dartford their first choice – how will this be allocated? Will this be on straight line distance or marks
4) Will this change if we are not Zone A

Can somebody please guide.
thanks

Put the schools down in ypur genuine order of preference. The schools don't know where you put them and the order has no bearing on whether you get a place.
