I just wanted to thank everyone for their support over the past few months and to wish everyone the very best good luck for today and Tuesday.
It's been an exhausting and stressful journey for us all, at least now the end is in sight.

Good luck and if things don't go our way tomorrow I shall try to convince myself that everything happens for a reason!

Hi I'm new here, would just like to echo your feelings and say that it has been like waiting to be sentenced. (Not that I ever have LOL!) Don't know whether to just hide the post tommorrow and pretend!

good luck to all

hi to all waiting for the results in kent. its been a year since i visited this site and i could not help but think about all the people tonight and how they are feeling.
this time last year, my daughter had failed the 11 plus and got a school that we had not even put on the form ( it had to be the least desirable school in kent ). as you can imagine i was devastated!! i cryed all the time for weeks after , and didnt know which way to turn. however i wasnt about to give up without a fight....as us parents dont!!i decided to appeal, which i might say is not an easy option. the paper work was stressful and the appeal interview even worse.
however, my daughter won her appeal and she has now been at grammar since september. i have no regret and know that this was the right choice but it was not easy.
to those that pass first time congratulations, to those that are now facing an appeal, it will be tough , but if you believe in your child you will get through this. it may not feel like it today.in the beginning it feels like the end of the world, its such a huge wait for the results and such a big heavy heart feeling when the results arnt what you expect.
if anyone from the kent area would like any advice on paperwork to submit for the appeal, or questions to get ready for appeal i will be more than willing to share my experience with you. after all knowledege and preparation is a big part of the appeal.
you will get through this !!!

The New Admissions Appeals Code starting from 1st March, 2008 means that those who had a HT review for 'borderline fails' or those who were expected to pass and didn't, cannot appeal on any grounds other than that the process in the HT review was not correctly followed.

Cest la vie - wow is that true? that will considerably change things this year. Surely that will reduce the amount of appeals after allocation day by a huge amount? :(

c'est la vie,

Can you point me or supply a link to that information?

We wouldn't want to be giving out wrong info on Appeals if it has changed this year..
