6x -7 =3x +5 whats the value of x
i need a method not just guessing numbers.
i need a method not just guessing numbers.
To solve most teachers recommend the following:
First collect all x terms on the side where you have the most
6x -7 =3x +5
6x -7 -3x = 3x + 5 -3x [subtracting 3x from both sides]
so,
3x - 7 = 5
now collect the numbers
3x -7 +7 = 5 + 7 [adding 7 to both sides]
3x = 12
x = 4
Now check in original if you have time
