What does 'TWOS' mean

Hello

We are just doing some practise on Mental Arithmetic book . Please could someone advise what does word ‘TWOS’ mean in the example below :
‘how much less than a fifty is the sum of 1 twenty and 7 twos’

think probably the plural of two.

so the sum would be 20+14 = 44 so this is 6 less than 50

you can go cross eyed looking at these sometimes - start thinking it is an anagram or something!!!

I think it is referring to money. ie. 20p piece and 2p pieces.
