Hi Ive come across the following 2 questions which i just cannot seem to find a method for...please could some give a quick explanation of the answer? they prbably are simple ones i just seem to not be able to do them!

1) x/12=11 remainder 5, calculate z

2) how many times does 2500cm2 go into 15m2?

any help would be appreciated
thanks

Is the first one meant to be calculate x rather than z?
as 12/12 equals 1 then x is found by (12 x 11)+5 = 137
ie if you divide 137 by 12 you get 11 rem 5.

I think the answer to the 2nd question is 60
2500cm2 = 0.25m2
15 / 0.25 = 60
but maybe someone could check this? this sort of conversion not my strongest point :lol:

To convert 2500cm2 to m2 I imagined the shape to be 25cm x 100cm (giving an overall 2500cm2).
25 cm = 0.25m and 100cm = 1m
0.25 x 1 = 0.25m2
