James plays football for his school team. He scores a goal (S) every third match (M) he plays. Which equation represents this information?

S=M
S=3M
M=S-3
S=1/3M
S=M-3

S=1/3M

Scores every 3rd match, so after 3 matches 1 goal, after 6 matches 2 goals etc..

not so easy to see it like that - if written s=m/3 it is clearer. I suppose what they mean is s=(1/3)*m

Thank you both so much.
If you have the time would you kindly explain what S=3M would mean in comparison.

cheers

s=3m would mean 3 goals per match

ie 3 matches = 9 goals
