putting factor 6 suncream on means that you can stay in the sun 6 times longer than is normally safe.

one day last summer it was safe to be in the sun for 1 1/2 hours with the sun cream on, how long would have been safe without it ?

answer is :15 minutes

can anyone explain the work out please .thank you very much for all your help.

So 1.5 hours must be 6 times the safe time; so we need to divide by 6 - 1.5 hours =90 mins

90 divided by 6 = 15 mins
