Re: Junior Mathematical Challenge
Eventually got intermediate Olympiad result. He only got 47/54 which sounds great but is no where near a distinction apparently! Not sure why he's not been invited to the summer school as kids with less have gone. :/

DS hasn't had result from JMO yet, does anyone know when results are sent to schools?

Re: Junior Mathematical Challenge
Our school has had results and given out certificates in assembly. The whole of Year 7 has to take it and Year 8 get a choice to take it. In my opinion it suits those who think in a certain way. Some of the golds from Year 7 did not make it in to the top maths set in Year 8. My dd got bronze last year and nothing this year but has kept her place in top maths set for Year 9. It definitely shows ability it Maths but as guest55 many who are very good at maths and go on to do post grad research do not even get a bronze. DG
