GL Assessment Maths 2 paper 5 help on 2 questions

I am sure that these are really silly questions, but even google hasn't helped me this time
Qu. 34
Nina has some sticks of different lengths. She can lay the sticks end to end to make triangles like this (gives a picture of a scalene triangle). Nina chooses sticks with lengths 2cm,3cm,5cm,6cm,8cm
Which of these sets of 3 sticks can Nina use to make a triangle?
2cm,3cm,5cm
2cm,3cm,6cm
2cm,3cm,8cm
3cm,5cm,6cm
3cm,5cm,8cm
Qu.38
Bulu has a 2D shape
All of its sides have are same length
Which of these cannot be Bulu's shape
A right-angled triangle
an equilateral triangle
a square
a rectangle
a parallelogram

A right angle triangle will always have at least one side a different length, also a rectangle will have 2 sides of one length and 2 sides of another length. A square and equilateral triangle will have all sides the same and I suppose a parallelogram can too!

Thanks hermanmaster, I could see that but why is it not also a rectangle which can't have 4 sides the same otherwise it would be a square?

I think rectangle is one of those that can't be the defined shape, along with a right angled triangle. the one that sits in the middle is the parallelogram.

To make a triangle the sum of the two shorter sides must exceed the length of the longest side - so 3cm,5cm,6cm is the only one which fulfils this requirement.

You could argue that a square is actually just a special case of a rectangle (and a special case of a parallelogram too for that matter).
