Sounds like you are doing well. I taught DD in year 4 drop down long division in the summer holidays. We haven't touched it since so I'm sure it would be a screaming match now!
I don't actually know in the "real thing" how many questions would benefit from fast division by two or more digits.
Do you have writing in your real eleven plus? We don't, just a writing task which is looked at at the headteacher review if a child is a borderline fail before the results are announced.

I'm not sure about long division in the real 11+ either. I think they do for some private school exams and we're always in two minds whether to sit any of those or not.
Most of our grammar options do have a writing and comprehension element; and most have a VR element too. We're going to have to focus on maths, English, VR and NVR if he sits them all ....
