Can anyone tell me where I can get a list of maths terminology please ie, perimeter =, area =, etc. I can find an English one but not maths. I'm sitting dd down to do maths work which he is getting hopelessly wrong but as soon as I say a perimeter is a ........ he does it within seconds. Arghh. Cheers.

Mrs j rules

From Amazon

Pretty much perfect, a few things left out, but I simply stuck them in.

As they get older maths dictionaries are good too, but more for secondary.

The Usborne Junior dictionary of maths is excellent.

The Peter Robson one

I taught my yr 9 bottom set a little dance. Round the rim, perimeter (with circular arm motions) followed by area, squarea (accompanied by star jumps). They were all rather 'cool' boys, but actually got out of their seats and joined in.

I was enormously surprised when my yr 10 top set arrived humming it the following day!
