I disagree re time constraints - you underline as you read through - takes no longer to do. Say the same to GCSE students at work.parent2013 wrote:Good for home learning but would'nt recommend underlining & circling for the real exam due to time constraints.
CEM is approx 30 secs per Q. But questions are not difficult either.
Superselective - harder questions but approx 45 sec - 1 mins per Q.
Best option is - get it right first time and then revise hard.

I am just suggesting based on our experience. Obviously GCSE students are older, mature and get more time for questions (I guess).
CEM is a fast paced paper. I wouldn't have appreciated my ds to miss out the questions just because he is spending time underlining the important info. I rather worked on building the mental ability strong enough to crack questions without wasting time on underling etc and it worked for us.
It is all balancing oneself between speed and accuracy. I would therefore say that make a call based on ability of your child and the exam type. Any disagreements are welcome.
