Help with number sequence!

Can someone help my tired brain work this out? My DD couldn't do it and neither could I!
Not panicking too much as she isn't taking the tests until 2015
1, 5, 6, 11, 17, 28, (_____)

hello - it looks like a Fibonacci type - you add the previous two terms to get the next term.
1, 5, 6, 11, 17, 28, (_____)
1, 5, (1 + 5 = 6), (6 + 5 = 11), ( 11+ 6 = 17), etc
