Maths practice books for Year 3

Post by Middlesexmum »

Having been through the 11+ process with my older dds who are both stronger in English than Maths, I want to start early with dd3 to make sure she has the basics firmly grasped.

Can anyone recommend some good materials for her to do a little bit a few times a week? I don't want to overload her, just keep up a bit of regular practice. I've heard of 10 mins a day books, are they good?

CGP for the appropriate age is also useful.

I would second the S&S books, I have all of the mental arithmetic books and think they are excellent. You can split down the tests into chunks eg Section A only to achieve your 10 minutes. I have also used the Bonds 7-8 books which are also quite useful to help identify any topics your DD needs extra support with. Again you can split down the papers to make it more flexible for you.
