I m sure I read on here somewhere that Nfer goes from left to right rather than brackets first (BDMAS)

Is this still the case? almost allteh children I teach do brackets first and it seems wrong telling them to ignore it.

Can anyonr confirm or deny this before I give them the wrong information?

Thank you

We went with the 'brackets first and then left to right' method. Leaving BIDMAS/BODMAS, which seems to be taught mainly at secondary.
The answers were always correct, on the NFER maths test papers with this method.

I''m just looking at a completed paper and that fits in nicely.
