Mileage
How do they work out the mileage from Home to school??
On google it adds about 1.5 miles to the route when there is a short cut along a B road, Which is more like an A road.
Surely they can't discredit B roads ? if they did how do they work out mileage from villages which probably aren't even on C roads.
Also the journey from our house to the A1 takes us along a B road.
Any ideas greatfully received.

Re: Mileage
Ask the school, I'm sure it will say in the admissions criteria.
Some are as the crow flies, some shortest route by road etc.

Re: Mileage
For Community schools which follow the LA's secondary schools' admission policy the measurement is the shortest route driving distance from the home to the school using Microsoft Mappoint as the measuring tool.

All adopted roads used - but not footpaths or private roads - you really could not discount tiny roads in a place like Lincolnshire
