STATEMENT FROM MEDWAY COUNCIL RE ROYAL MAIL STRIKE 29 OCT 09

WE HAVE BEEN REQUESTED TO POST THE FOLLOWING UPDATED STATEMENT FROM MEDWAY COUNCIL:
Due to the Royal Mail postal strike, Medway Council has today taken the unprecedented decision to courier the Medway Test Results to individual homes. The courier service will take place during Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October. The results will be posted through letterboxes.
This means that duplicate letters will not need to be sent to schools on Monday.
Portfolio Holder for Children's Services, Councillor Les Wicks said "These test results are extremely important for our children and their parents/guardians, which is why we have taken this decisive action today."
