DD has just mentioned that the children sitting the exam at Chatham Boys were delayed by approx 15 minutes. She was handed the piece of paper but when she opened it there was nothing there except for lines to write on, but no instructions. The invigilators told them to wait while they rang Medway and the children sat around until the papers were located. DD is sure that the break after the english paper was cut down to 5 minutes. She hardly had time to eat her snack and due to the really long queues at the toilet didn't have chance to go before being told to queue up and then worried that she needed to go. On what was a stressful day these issues do not help. :|

According to a poster on Kent Independent Education Advice website, the time they spent waiting for the English instructions was not added on to the 50 minutes, so they were given short time for the test. According to another poster on the same site, at Rainham Mark the first break was cut to about 5 to 10 minutes.

Received score breakdown, interestingly enough the writing score was quite poor and below average (although this is DD strongest subject and she has received very good results previously at school -level 5 at end of year 5) but luckily her verbal reasoning and maths scores were both very high and will allow her to get into the GS of choice. I can't help but wonder if her writing was affected by the paper hoo hah at Chatham Grammar as the mark is so completely out of kilter with the other scores and how this may have impacted others?
