please could someone explain how they calculate the scores in medway? for grammar schools. they do a english test mathematics multiple choice and verbal reasoning multiple choice.

My daughter is currently getting between 35-42 out of 50 in the maths and around 55-68 in the verbal reasoning out of 80. how is this calculated into scores which i have seen which range from 400,500 right up to 700 being the top score. English is double maths is double and vr single.

Thankyou for all your help.

Hi guest, I think you're in the wrong section you should be in the MEDWAY not KENT. I'm afraid you cannot translate the scores pupils get in practice papers to the possible 700 in the medway. This is because they are all standardised against other children of that age.
I think as you've obviously entered your child now, you just have to send them along and keep your fingers crossed. Who can say what level all the other children be at on the day! Its a lottery. :?
