Northern Ireland 11 Plus Exam Format

There are two formats of exams in Northern Ireland, set by GL Assessment and AQE.
GL ASSESSMENT
The GL Assessment (formerly NFER) 11 Plus Exams:
Test Date(s): November 21 with supplementary date December 12:
Results Date: February 6th, 2010
Subjects & Format:
English – Multiple Choice – 50 minutes – 65 Questions – inc. 3 passages
Mathematics – Multiple Choice – 45 Minutes – 45 Questions
Note: Short Practice before each paper and a short break between papers.
Answer sheet: resembles National Lottery Ticket.
Marking: By Computer
Grade Structure: A, B1, B2, C1, C2 or D.
Fee: FREE
AQE
The AQE 11 Plus Exams:
Test Dates: November & December
Results Date:
Subjects & Format:
Pupils will sit up to 3 tests in English and Maths in November & December.
English (Poem, Prose Passage), Maths and Basic Skills.
Answer Booklet: Write answers in pencil inside the book. Additional rough paper will be supplied but must be handed in with the answer booklet.
Venue: At the grammar school.
Marking: At two local centres.
