Hi,

We were talking about this at work today as none of us have had the letter about the exam details, I checked and the schools will send out a letter a week before the exam which tells us which school our DCs will be doing the exam at.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anybody else was wondering.

You beat me to it! I was also wondering that earlier today.
Anyone know roughly what time it will start and how long it will take? I realise it will be a bit longer than the pre-test since there is the English too.

Hi Haze,

It was very similar to the morning session of the pre-test but slightly longer. I'm sorry I can't remember much else.

Guess 9-11.30??? :?

I know everyone gets to sit the exam at the school located closest to them.

That's good, we were hoping for NHGS so it's familiar.

Thanks.

Hi Optimistic - I thought that was an advantage too! :D

That was a quick reply! Yes, I do think it will help - and every little counts, right?

DD has suddenly started producing the goods, guess she is peaking at the right time - the last 7 papers she's done would get her a place I reckon.

That's really good news optimistic. I have everything crossed for you. :D

I have been on some of the other forums where the results have arrived. I always feel queasy when the results come in, so much effort and hope pinned on such young shoulders.

So we may well be at Crossleys then. Hmmm. DS took an instant dislike to that place I hope that doesn't affect his.

Good news from your quarter Optimistic. DS is now firing on all cylinders and up in the mid to high 80% for the VR. Still a bit mediocre with the maths, but we'll see how he does on the day.

Sorry Haze - I didn't realise you were closer to Crossley.

*back peddling furiously about any suggested advantage!*

It's really good that you're up to speed just don't allow any loss of confidence at this stage.

As I said to optimistic, I have everything crossed for the best outcome. :D

:D We're way down the western end of the valley. We're actually closer to Bacup & Rawtenstall!

A friend with a son at NH had a disasterous pre-test at NH, followed by a successful test at CH. She partly puts it down to just being in a different place causing him to be less nervous. I'm sure you could construct a good argument for lots of senarios though.

I'm sure, so long as he knows, he's sensible enough not to let it faze him.
