Halifax eleven plus!
Hi
I'm just wondering if siblings play any part in grammar school allocation? My daughter has come 229 and we put down both schools so I know she is guaranteed a place but her sister is in Y9 at NHGS, which is our first choice. I'm just curious as to whether this gives her priority or not?

Hi reegybeegy,
The over-subscription criteria is only used if they cannot offer all shared score/rank a place at the school. In that case they would differentiate the candidates by first accepting children in care, next distance and finally siblings.

interesting - in skipton it's the other way round - siblings before distance.mitasol wrote: In that case they would differentiate the candidates by first accepting children in care, next distance and finally siblings.

It would be so much easier if all the schools used the same test and selected pupils in the same way.
