Absolutely no idea if this is correct, but mrs AfE met someone today who told her the pass mark for the maths paper at SGHS was 54% - which seems very, very low.

She also heard that 6 girls from Water St passed, which makes 24 we know if from 4 schools - 20% of the intake from 4 local schools.

actually of course it is rather more like 60% ... as only about 40 should be from catchment..

So will there be more than 16 from carleton, bradley, gargrave, grassington, cracoe, kettlewell, beamsley, B&P, Parish, St Stephens etc etc + in area kids at out of area schools? ... all very curious.

Nice sums-work, Herm. That's even more amazing when you look at it like that.

I've no idea where she got the 54% from - unless the "fail" letter gave marks and passmarks for each paper. I assumed it'd be an overall mark, standardised.
