Re: SGHS passes
Thank you. Thought it was stressful waiting for the results but it seems the stress is just beginning!!
Re: SGHS passes
Well, somehow, miraculously, she was offered a place at SGHS. Still reeling from the shock. If anyone has any
information on numbers this year that might explain how this happened I'd be really interested!

Re: SGHS passes
Great news! ... don't worry it does happen like that sometimes... seems to swing from year to year with sometimes lower than expected numbers "passing" and everyone who has passed can get a place and other times the distance can get quite short ...
pm me if you need any info.

Re: SGHS passes
Thank you!
It is such a relief, however, SGHS was our second choice (purely on location as It's a fantastic school and I know that she is incredibly lucky to have a place there) as our son has a place at Harrogate GS sixth form for September and Ripon would have been much more practical for us. Is it worth appealing or should we just be grateful (which we are - unbelievably so!!).

Re: SGHS passes
There is nothing to stop you a) going on the waiting list for Ripon b) appealing.
yes SGHS is great but if you have one in Harrogate and one in Skipton and are living one end or the other you are going to get very fed up of the A59. ... Which pretty though it is, is quite a bit of driving and can have some crazy closures if they need to do anymore landslip work at Kex Gill.
PS by appealing you will not jeopardise your place at SGHS

Re: SGHS passes
Yes, HGS are introducing a bus service for Ripon and the villages from September so Ripon would definitely be a more practical option. We'll just have to see what happens and make it work somehow.
Thanks for the information and support that you and others have provided during a really stressful few months. It has meant a lot.
