I've just had a letter through from Manchester grammar demanding first term's payments of fees even though my son is not now going to the school. .

Thats harsh! I did see something similar in one of the other threads maybe the independent one last year. Will try and find it and send to you.

I am sure someone will be picking up your place so they won't have lost out. Would that be about Â£3000???

The charges are standard practice and not a rip-off, you signed the papers, you agreed to it. Simple as.

Couple of points:

(i) MGS is a great school (top 10 UK) with a better academic record then the school my child is going to.If your going there you can't go wrong.

(ii) Good luck to everyone who are still looking for the right school.

(iii) Thanks to all for their advice.
