CATs or Assessment at the start of Year 7 at AGGS
Hi everyone,
My daughter will be starting at AGGS this September.
I have heard from someone in the past that the girls will have to do some sort of assessment in first few weeks at the start of Year 7.
Is this assessment is CAT? Also want to know more what's involved in CAT ?
If any parents who already has their daughters at AGGS,has the information , can you please share your experiences? It will be very helpful & much appreciated.
I'm sure Traffordmum will have some info handy
Thanks
Ash

I don't think we parents are allowed to know too much about CATs so they reflect ability without any coaching or tuition. I know there are assessments in Verbal reasoning, non verbal reasoning and numeracy and they are run by GL assessment.

Yes, they do CATS at some point in the first few weeks of term. VR, NVR and a maths paper. Don't stress about them. They also do them in Year 9. You don't get told the results and they use them for target setting.

Thanks DC17C & TraffordMum,
Thanks for your reply, I'm not stressing at all. Just being curious as no one knew anything about it.
My daughter is not bothered , she is just chillin
She says she had enough of tests & will be just relaxing now.
