Hi, this is my 1st post so please bear with me if you've read something similar to this in the past. I'd like to know which priamry schools in Trafford prepare students for the 11+ exam. I've been told mine doesn't which I'm not happy about. Also, are there any courses/workshops for preparation work being held in Trafford? Please help.

I don't think you will get the answer you want here, partly because there aren't many Trafford posters and partly because I doubt any of us knows the answer. I know the answer for about 3 primaries but certainly no more than that.

Can you narrow the area in Trafford down a bit and then maybe ring up the relevant schools and ask?

For what it is worth, the school my children go to doesn't teach for the entrance exams yet over 50% have passed this year. I am sure the vast majority were coached externally in some way, but then kids from schools where they are taught at school are also coached privately. I quite like the fact that our school doesn't coach because they spend more time on both the national curriculum and other activities rather than on the 11+

There's a lot you can do at home with your kids to prepare them. You don't have to spend vast quantities of money on tutors.

I know that English Martyrs don't coach the children and agree that this is probably a good thing as it allows them to concentrate on the curriculum
