Can anyone tell me the format of the tests in NVR, English, Maths and MFL for AGGS when applying for entry to Year 8?
Do they use GL assessment type papers or do they set their own test papers which would be more like school end-of-year exams?

I cannot say for definite but when I enquired about my daughter perhaps taking the test for year 8 entry last year I was led to believe that she would take similar tests to the AGGS end of year 7 tests combined with a NVR paper similar to the GL asessment one they take for 11+. I think they have to score over 75% in 3 out of the 4 to be considered a pass and then they would join the wait list which would probably follow similar rules to the 11+ wait list i.e sibling at school, in catchment by distance etc.

As the school were over PAN last year because of 4 successful appeals I would check with the school what the current year group space is like as you may be sitting a test to no avail as it would be unlikely that they would allow themselves to remain over PAN. Only if 5 girls leave/have left by end of the current year 7 (which is unlikely) will they have a year 8 place available in September.
