Are the all the papers at St Ambrose based on GL assessment? thanks

I think they set their own and they are not as difficult as the GL papers.

I'm with you TIDDLYMUM, DS definitely thought St Ambrose was easier than GL last year!

I just contacted St Ambrose and they wouldn't give me any details, they wouldn't even say if the papers were multiple choice or not. Oh well- good luck for everyone sitting it this Saturday. x

They wouldn't give anything away last year but DS said the exam itself was quite straightforward and they were well looked after on the day. :D

Generally, the Ambrose exam is slightly easier than Alty and Sale, but only the VR paper is GL type. The main difficulty is that they do change the format for their English exam - sometimes they have a comprehension and/or questions on grammar but for the past couple of years they have had a paper which has required the children to complete a sentence which has one word missing. They are giving a choice of five words from which to select their answer.
