Sale was our 2nd choice. Our 1st was AGSB, which we also passed, but being out of area our margin is not big enough.

Our AGSB is 348, i.e. 7 points (~2 questions) short of last years OOC qualifying score of 355.

I wouldnt lose hope, a friend of mine their DS got in after being waiting list with score of 351 last year. The school only publishes score from first round of allocation( i think).Have you put your DS On waiting list for AGSB. I know you have done it for Sale, but pls do for alty as well.

All the best.

So sorry to hear your dilemma Minnosh.

We were very close to putting SGS first choice with AGSB second .... but after reading this the gods must have been with us in reversing the selection.

I was alarmed to read that all places had been taken up in catchment and it will probably serve as a warning for those out of area in coming years.

Good luck to you and DS

Minnosh,

We are ooc, placed Sale second and were not offered a place with a score of 390+. We were offered AGSB and accepted this place.

I hope that there will be some movement with second round offers for those still waiting for places.

You only get one offer for state grammar school. If your DC qualifies for the first choice then second ,third choices wont be offered- score doesn't make any difference

parents666- Once all the acceptances are in, there may be second round offers. There will for example be boys who have been offered AGSB but will go to Manchester Grammar.
