One week to go for AGSB exam format

Post by rimi01 »

One week from today, on 16th June , we will know the format of AGSB exam. This has been such a frustrating wait . I just hope that they declare the format on 16th so that we can concentrate on final prep.

What do you prefer - NVR or English? DS seems to be more comfortable in English so I am bit scared that NVR will put him off the exam :(

My DS sits in Sept, and he prefers English to NVR too. Find it difficult to believe that we're just 3 months away from an exam, which we've been working towards for ages, and still do not know what's going to be in it. Puuuuh!!!

What's worse is that with the changed format, whatever it is, if you're out of catchment (which we are), even when we get the results we will have no idea whether it'll be enough or not, whereas in previous years you'd have a pretty good idea... Double Puuuuh!!

I hope for everyone's sake, the school comes back with a reply regarding the format.

It is an annoying wait, but nearly there now....... :D

I personally would prefer English.....but if you ask DS he would rather do NVR.

I have one worry less as we are in catchment.

@AGSB old boy - Most parents and boys I have spoken to prefer English !! It is less unpredictable , in NVR, if your DS' mind is off that day...its lost !! Whereas English will stay as its direct application.

Oshosh - You are lucky to have escaped this uncertanity!!

Yes rimi01, but my best friend's son is doing the exam in sept.

Hopefully next monday would bring some good news.

My bet is on English.

I'm keeping everything crossed that you are right Oshosh!
I still maintain it's crazy that a school can't choose it's own entrance exam- hope the person that put the spanner in the works is enjoying the stress it's causing us all! :x Feel a bit better for getting that off my chest!

Personally I think it will be NVR but who knows- I'm disappointed we still don't know, it just makes the whole process even more stressful.
