Creative Writing topics?

Does anyone have recent experience of the Creative Writing piece for the Urmston Grammar School exam? My DD did the exam 3 years ago, but I can't remember very clearly whether or not the children were given a choice of 'titles'? At Loreto they were given a choice ('Describe a home under the sea' etc..). Will it be a choice of writing to describe/inform/persuade - to suit different strengths? Or just the one title?

My dd took UGS entrance exam last year, she was give the task of describing, following on from a sentence beginning 'The mountain...'

She is in year 7 at UGS and loves it. My ds is due to take entrance exams this September, doesn't seem 2 seconds since I was on this site.

Thanks Mstar. Yes, I thought it might be a writing to describe task. So - they were not given a choice of titles then?
