altrincham boys grammar- following gl format or cme?

my son will appear 2016 for 11 plus. i have heard that exam format is changed by few schools like sale and AGGS. they will follow cme instead of GL. is the same going for AGSB? just concerned though time ahead. if they change format next year they should have informed at least 6 months before.is it ok if i continue with my son bond test papers for the time being as i assume that whether gl or cme bond papers provide basic understanding.
