This may be useful for those considering Indie sixth forms for sept 2015.
All figures are approximate and taken directly from their respective web-sites and may change after remarks ect(and not confirmed by the DoE)

A*-B grades have been chosen because not all schools have given complete breakdown of the results in terms of A* , A*/A and A*-B % , plus this is the criteria chosen by The Times for their A level rankings.

If considering any sixth form please visit the school first(and demand a full breakdown of results including percentage of A levels that are facilitating subjects)

kings macclesfield 80%

kings school chester 86%

manchester grammar school 90%

queens school chester 80%

withington girls' school 93%

stockport grammar 84%

manchester high school for girls 98%

the grange school northwich 95%

cheadle hulme school 80%

only highly selective Indies are listed.

One of our Liverpudlian(wirral) neighbours has PMed me ,protesting they are being ignored

so in term of A*-B at A level;

Birkenhead school 70%

merchant taylor school crosby
boys 80%
girls 80%

just in case I offend anyone else here.

bolton girls division 78%

bolton boys division A*-B not stated but A*-C 93% ,A*/A 55%

why people can't research themselves is beyond me ( my own fault for starting this thread  )
