Not eleven plus related but looking for info...

My friend lives in Hale Barns and has not received any of her 3 local choices for reception for her 4 year old. Instead she's been offered a less than desirable school in Timperley. Anyone heard anything about school place shortages for 2016 ?

I saw some headlines on the news websites - suspect it is certain areas ?

I think Hale Barns is an odd area, there is only one state primary school that I can think of and then you're probably out of catchment for the other schools (which are still local but further away). I don't think there's a particular shortage this year, I think it might just be geography. It would be worth going on the waiting lists for some of the schools in Hale / Bowdon.
