Wellington School

Post by geeksy »

Hi, Hope someone can help.

1. It is hard to choose between Wellington & Ashton on Mersey, would anyone have any experience/advice please?

2. Transferring to secondary booklet 2016, from Trafford council states, Wellington School - "All Category 2 applicants offered" Does this mean all applicants from WA14 & WA15 got admission? Some parts of WA14 are well outside 1 mile from the school and from the forum it appears, to get a place at Wellington you got to be within 1 mile usually.

thanks,

Hi
For the first time this year North Cestrian was an option for those withiin WA14 and WA15 postcodes and they filled all of their places. This would have meant Wellington were able to offer places further out than in previous years. In the past it has gone about 1.2/1.4 miles out.

Hi there,

I don't have personal experience of either, but the general concensus locally seems to be that Wellington is more academic. People seem very satisfied with the school - also lots of emphasis on extra curricular activities so they seem interested in developing the child as a whole rather than just to get the grades.

Probably best to go to the open days and see how you feel.
