practice tests

Post by fm »

My understanding is that the children do 2 practice tests before the actual real thing.

a) Is a mark issued for these or are they literally there for familiarisation of the 11 plus process?

b) Is the practice paper given to parents to peruse and note weak points?

My DS did tests 2 years ago, so if things haven't changed:

a) No, just familiarisation

b) Again no, I was told that the tests aren't even marked and are destroyed, so can't be used in an appeal for instance.

Good luck!

Hi,

Just as Grumpy stated- they are just so the children become familiar with the papers, the papers aren't even looked at.

Wishing your dc all the very best.

2 years ago in this case too, but I seem to remember my DD saying that the invigilators went through at least some of the practice questions with the children afterwards. No idea if this is standard practice though, or even if I've imagined it!
