Am I right in thinking the results for 11+ are posted out 1 March to hopefully arrive 2nd?

Are they addressed to the parents or the child?

Don't know about Wirral specifically but the letters are usually adressed to "the parent or guardian of..."

You are correct with the dates, Wirral 11+ results are posted out on 1st March, to arrive 2nd March.

The only way we would find out earlier, is if our DS is offered a GS place on 1st March - (they, of course, only offer places to those who have passed 11+.)

Good Luck

Hi all

First time writing on here, but have been reading the site for some time now and its been a godsend. I just wanted to say my DS did not pass the 11 plus (5 marks short) yesterday and is devastated, I feel so useless. She has gone into school upset.

Hi sadmum

I'm sorry to hear your news - it is very difficult to deal with. Have you got other options? How do you feel about the allocated school? Would you consider appealing?

best wishes and keep posting

Herman

Mine neither, failed by 4 and has been given his 4th choice ! Felt he was the only one to fail and be given school didn't want (wanted woodchurch) but then his mate rang to say most failed and nobody got woodchurch !

Hope your DS feels a bit better today  He has done well

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your DS, you just don't want them to go through this.
My DD (sorry not DS, just getting used to rules) is very happy with the second choice (pensby) but on the other hand can't stop crying. DD was doing excellent in practice tests etc and in school. DD frustrated about score. My husband wonders whether to appeal, am not to sure. Is it worth it? :?

Hi Sadmum
This is a very difficult time, I know. We went through it last year with DS who failed the 11 plus. We did appeal. Was your result referred to the indep board? Might also be worth having a word with head.
Our appeal was unsuccesful but I am glad we did it; I felt we had to explore every option available. For what it's worth, DS now well settled in his 2nd choice school and doing v well. Good luck

Hi mumto2

Thanks for the reply, I dont know much about it but it does say 'that there was a referral to independant assessment board' what does that mean? not spoke to the head yet.
